The Big Green Purse
The Big Green Purse by Diane MacEachern is a call-to-action with a simple message: women, use the power of your purse to solve the environmental crisis, while protecting yourselves and families.
Diane also runs the Big Green Purse website where together with her book, she offers time-saving ideas for how women can either make small changes in their "green" spending or big lifestyle changing moves as well.
Diane and The Big Green Purse have also launched the "Be One in a Million" Campaign encouraging one million women to pledge an intentional shift of at least $1000 of their existing budget to environmentally-friendly products. In doing so, participants can have a noticeable one billion dollar impact in the marketplace. That's the kind of big thinking we need.
As women, as moms, we need to harness our collective power in numbers and dollars and put it to work in a meaningful way.

The Hotspot originally started out as a monthly-or-so feature written by our favorite storytellers. Usually products or services were highlighted that tickled us. Over the past year delightful innovations and introductions in the maternity and parenting space have increased, and we feel we need a space to share our discoveries with you. Daily news stories on parenting also inspire us to communicate with you. As such, the Hotspot is now the Alpha Mom daily blog. Finally!
