Innovation Week: CARES Aviation Harness
Forget about schlepping through the airport with a carseat for your older baby or toddler.
One ingenious grandma invented CARES, or the Child Aviation Restraint System. It's FAA certified as having an equivalent level of safety to a car seat for all phases of flight and is manufactured by AmSafe, the foremost manufacturer of airplane seatbelts and other safety restraints.
Best of all, CARES weighs only 1 lb, fits in a 6" carrying case, fits all airplane seats and takes a mere 1 minute to install. The harness-style child safety device is for kids 22-44lbs.
After highlighting innovations not yet available in the marketplace, CARES has been around for a couple of years (you can find online reviews) and is available at Kids Fly Safe.

The Hotspot originally started out as a monthly-or-so feature written by our favorite storytellers. Usually products or services were highlighted that tickled us. Over the past year delightful innovations and introductions in the maternity and parenting space have increased, and we feel we need a space to share our discoveries with you. Daily news stories on parenting also inspire us to communicate with you. As such, the Hotspot is now the Alpha Mom daily blog. Finally!
