Chasing Fireflies: love it

I must buy too many things online, because boy-o-boy do I receive an extraordinary amount of catalogs. Most wind up in the trash, but over the years I have discovered some good ones: like Brocade, Viva Terra and Land of Nod. My new fave is Chasing Fireflies. Even the name is great.

From, the cover, the Chasing Fireflies catalog looks very Babystyle, which is nice but been there, done that. But open it up and whoa! the merchandising is fabulous. Some really unbelievable and unique items. True, they don't come cheap, but special gifts and clothes can be found. Here are some of may faves:

Personalized Wagon

When Ry was a baby and toddler I would pull him around our apartment in a Radio Flyer. During playdates, the kids took turns. I miss those days.

Mermaid Towels

I have no idea whether they're practical, but damn, they're cute.

Music Boxes

These are by that French music box company that Melissa covered recently. But, now you can buy more easily.

Skull Rain Boots

L-o-v-e.

Number Tees

I immediately thought of Chris and her seven kids. If I had nearly that many I would buy this series just to help me keep track of them all.

Phew. I'm exhausted now.

We have had horrible luck with Chasing Fireflies. Despite email and telephone conversations in which they confirmed that our order would arrive in time for our kid's b'day, it didn't. We got a note the day before the birthday that it was backordered - despite express assurances that it was in stock when we ordered it A MONTH BEFORE. Then the order - a costume with several pieces - was split into several shipments that dragged on for more than a month. And our complaints to customer service must have gone into a black hole, because THEY DIDN'T EVEN REPLY. So good luck to anyone brave enough to order.

I second what Dan said. Unbelievably bad customer service. Same thing happened to us. We ordered a Halloween costume for my daughter over a month ago online. The order form stated the item was in stock. When I called to check on the order about three weeks later, alas the item was backordered. So we had to order something else and I am now on hold with customer service trying to find out what on earth has happened with this order. This company is a joke, especially when you're paying $90 for a child's costume.

I completely agree, dreadful service!!!!! After two stressful months of chasing down returns, I will NEVER order from them again and will make sure none of my friends do!

I also agree, after ordering a Halloween costume over a month in advance, was finally told on 10/24 that costume won't be arriving in time for Halloween. I won't be ordering from Chasing Fireflies again, and definately wouldn't recommend it.

Leave it to us great american consumers...

Here is a great american made company...these people work tirelessly to find one of a kind items for spoiled people like you and you turn your nose on this company because your little susie didn't get her costume...instead of turning your nose on this company why didn't you try working out another arrangement. they are the sweetest people at that company...

Or you could go down to your local Macys and try to find someone that will maybe know where the costumes are????

I don't get it!!!

Wake up America and support your american companies and stop complaining...

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE COMPANY and customer service. I have to agree with the first posts! Awful! They must have paid Tyanne to speak so highly of them. They completely ignore any problems that arise. Not much of a company is my opinion.
