Check these out. I visit my sister's children's boutique, Ola Baby, at least once a month. It's based in Brooklyn in the neighborhood where we grew up and the majority of my family still lives. She has a great eye and is constantly scouring the trade shows and such for merchandise to sell.
I walked in the other day and, as always, my eye went straight for the new stuff. Love these, I told her and she said so does everybody else. They are manufactured in Brazil and thus for some reason, for which I cannot pinpoint, look to me like they belong on the soccer field. It's a hybrid of sock meets water shoe.

I bought a pair from Kim of Babymarketplace fame and we love love love them. They fit a little on the wee side, at least for Charlotte. Kim actually lives about 30 minutes from me! Small small bloggy world. I wish I had a pair to wear in the sand at the playground so my feet didn't get an unwanted harsh pumice in my sandals.

My daughter loves them. She wore them around and in the pool last summer. She even wore them to daycare many days. They are so comfy. To Nik: if your daughter couldn't keep them on them you may want to try a smaller size or try them on again when her feet get a little bigger. I found that a slightly snug fit stays on best. And since they stretch they are still comfy.
