Treasured: "Rosa" & "Pomar"

These one-of-a-kind cloth dolls are by Portuguese designer Rosa Pomar. I gifted my son with these last year hoping he would take to them over those plastic licensed characters that make the toy economy go round. No luck, but he does appreciate them and I get a small thrill each time he calls the left doll "Pomar" and the cupid one "Rosa." On the spot for a name? Just name them after the dollmaker. Hasbro is not too shabby in a pinch, if you think about it.

Also, Rosa Pomar creates a special collection for Nurseryworks, color coordinating each creation to the latest season's bedding collection. Nice idea.

I heart these collectible dolls. The end.

Warning: her site is in Portuguese, but a second or two of digging around will lead you to the English-language links.

I wish my daughter would love the things I want her to love a little longer. Alas, she is growing into a tomboy that loves pink. Perhaps this is part of getting paid back for the kind of kid I was to my mother. ;)

Your bookshelves look great! I'm such a sucker for anything rainbow-like, so I was in heaven with Andrea's rainbow filled post.
