So, I've been perusing the Back-to-School catalogs and am all giddy about this new trend: caplets or capes. True, I have a boy, but perhaps it's a harbinger and I will see some on the women's shelves this fall.

The first is available at the Children's Place for $19.50. The second lovely caplet is by the Tea Collection and is available for $69.

This knitted caplet is from Loopy of the UK.
This crocheted cape is from Bluebird.

Why, oh WHY didn't I see this before this past weekend? I was at a consignment sale and easily saw a dozen of these, many handmade and gorgeous, none over $6...

Oh I had one of those when I was little. God I loved it.
Thank you for the memory!
