Family Synergy... I Love It!
I've mentioned before how my sister owns this wonderful shop Ola Baby in Brooklyn. She now, ahem, has a second store. I'm soooo proud of her. In little over a year she has expanded to another Brooklyn neighborhood.
During Thanksgiving lunch, I peppered her, as I usually do, with questions about products that are doing uber well. I will be focusing on more on these other, but she brought Pediped footwear to my attention.
Why are they flying off the shelves (particularly the girl's line)? It's clear that they are beautiful,. But they look practical as well. They serve that interesting late-baby-to-early-toddler period when soft-soled or flexible shoes for new walkers are recommended by most podiatrists. That period between Robeez and hard soled shoes. From the website :
Pediatricians now recommend that children up to two years of age go barefoot (when practical and safe) or wear lightweight, flexible footwear. This enables children’s feet to grow naturally and to develop musculature and strength. A soft-soled shoe also enables them to sense the ground beneath their feet and to grasp with their toes as they learn how to walk. Doing so promotes healthy foot development, ensures children’s growing feet are not constricted and enables them to develop foot strength. pediped™ footwear have soft, cushioned leather soles and soft, flexible leather uppers.
Here are some delicious styles:

My daughter had Pedipeds (the pink Carolines), and they are truly, truly the perfect shoe for toddlers. They are sturdy, easy to slip onto wiggly feet, comfortable, and absolutely darling.
Love the Pedipeds.

Ooo.. I feel so cutting edge, I have the brown poedi-peds with the polka dots, and I adore them! They're wonderful. Only $5 more than Robeez*, and so much better.
(At least, here in Canada.)
