Intermission

So it appears that I am taking the week off. Because of...Thanksgiving. Yes. That's it. I have...giblets and such to deal with. And don't even get me started on my napkin-folding issues.

Ha. No, actually I'm selling my house and looking for a new one, and the whole process has turned out to be rather stressful and ridiculously time-consuming. I know! Nobody told me either!

Anyway, provided all goes to plan and my realtor does not run me over with her car in the meantime, I will be back on Monday with some piping-hot bossiness. For now, two quick things:

1) For the World's Best Stuffing in the Universe, you will need:

1 loaf of Challah bread, cut into 1 inch cubes, left out to get a little stale
1 large onion, chopped fine, about 1 cup
1 cup celery, chopped fine
1 stick of butter, glorious delicious butter
1 tbsp poultry seasoning
salt & pepper to taste

Melt butter in fry pan, add celery and onions to cook. Add poultry seasoning, salt and pepper and mix well.

Put bread cubes in an oven-safe casserole or bowl, pour mixture over bread. If it seems dry, add two eggs and a little water.

Bake for 30 minutes to an hour at same temperature as turkey. Eat. Demand another helping. Repeat as necessary.

2) Does anyone have a solution for stress-related breakouts? Because EW and ARGH and GAH.

I suppose "stop stressing out" is not a helpful answer? But it's the best I can do, seeing as how my solution is to scrub and medicate the hell out of my face, and generally just make things worse.

I have stress-related breakouts regularly. Amy and Elizabeth, no scrubbing and over medicating ever helped me either. When my DH had poison ivy, I discovered that Aveeno 1% Hydrocortisone cream will clear up the rash/breakout within a few days. It is usually around $5.99 for a 1 oz. tube. I have tried some generic brands that work, but they usually take a day or two longer to work and I am too IMPATIENT to wait! ;-) See http://www.aveeno.com/detailAction.do?id=3658. The Aveeno (or the Generic) concentrated cream (blue stripe) makes my rash worse, so I avoid it.

The stuffing sounds good, Amy. Thank you.

Darn! The link didn't work. The cream that I used is the one with the burgundy stripe, which you can find under their anti-itch products.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Also - I haven't tried this, but I've heard using witch hazel as an astringent works well too (you can find it at Walgreens/CVS). Just put a small amount on a cottonball and dab on acne areas.
